  • Adult Programs: A federal- and state-funded program that pays for medical and health related services for eligible Rhode Islanders. 
  • Programs for Children: Medical Assistance for Children with Special Health Care Needs
  • Children with special health care needs may qualify for Medical Assistance due to their disability or condition.
  • Additional Programs: Rite Care and Rite Share, for families and those who need premium assistance.

Health Reform Status

Exchange: Rhode Island will run its own state-based health insurance exchange.

Medicaid: The state will expand Medicaid eligibility.
